Constitution & Bylaws
If you are a member of TGC, please make plans to attend our Member Meeting on Sunday, April 13 at 6:30PM.

Every church needs clear and well-defined governing documents to ensure it functions in an orderly and legally compliant manner. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Grove Church is required to operate under a constitution and bylaws that align with both state and federal laws. These documents establish the framework for leadership, decision-making, membership, and financial stewardship. More importantly, they help us remain faithful to our mission by providing structure and accountability as we seek to glorify God and serve our community.
-
From time to time, it becomes necessary to revise these documents to ensure they reflect both biblical principles and the current identity of our church. Our existing constitution and bylaws were last updated in 2018, and while they have served us well, The Grove Church has continued to grow and change. We desire to bring these documents into greater alignment with Scripture and with who we are today as a church family. This revision is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitments and clarify how we will continue to live out our mission to help families flourish.

Our existing Board of Directors (Dianne Milton, Doyle Shaw, Cindy Hale, and Erica Summerour), our TGC Lead Team (Dallas White, Jacob Bagley, Jonathan Grogan, TC McConnell, and Meagan Heisler), and several other key leaders in our church (Andrew Crain, Lee Welborn, Ian Schneider, and Ryan Pederson).
-
As we move through this process, we want to do so with openness, prayer, and thoughtful dialogue. We are committed to engaging in meaningful conversations, and we invite every member to participate. To ensure that all voices are heard, we will be hosting listening sessions (Sunday, March 9 at 6:30PM and Sunday, March 23 at 6:30PM) where members can ask questions and provide input. We will host a members meeting on Sunday, April 13 at 6:30PM to vote on the adoption of these new documents. Our goal is not simply to revise a document, but to seek God’s wisdom together as we shape the future of The Grove Church.

Our existing Board of Directors asked four men who meet the specifications outlined in Scripture (and in these documents) to pray about serving as their recommended first slate of elders. After much prayer and fasting, 3 of the 4 men have said “yes” to consideration. Those three men are Andrew Crain, Ian Schneider, and Ryan Pederson.
This proposed slate of elders will come in the form of a motion from our Board of Directors to the members of TGC at our members meeting on Sunday, 4/13, at which point the congregation will have an opportunity to vote on accepting this slate.
Should you have concerns about the qualifications of any of these candidates, please email dallas@thegrove.tv with your concern before our final listening session on Sunday, 3/23.
